Everyday Responsibilities
Please have your children to school on time. Try to be prompt so that all children are present for their first circle. If you will be delayed, please call.
Please be certain that your child is in good health, and ready to start the day with a good attitude. Remember that beginnings are important.
Please call the school if your child will be absent. It is helpful to know if they are ill, especially if it is a communicable childhood disease (e.g., chicken pox).
Please pick your child up promptly at the end of the day. Lateness causes unnecessary anxiety. If you are going to be late, please call the school.
Please send an extra set of clothing for your child. The clothing should be placed in a plastic bag and clearly labeled with your child’s name. The clothing should remain in school and be seasonally appropriate. Please replace used clothing immediately.
Please label all outer clothing to minimize loss. It is helpful to label clothing in a way that your child can recognize, as well. This contributes to self help skills.
Please dress your child in comfortable play clothing. It is inevitable that clothing will get messy. Messy clothing is the sign of a successful day.
Please dress your child in outer clothing that is appropriate for the weather. We will go outdoors in all types of weather.
Check the bulletin board daily for articles and notices that may be of interest.
Please escort your child to and from school. If your child is leaving school with someone else, please send in a written permission slip. In the event of carpooling, an initial written permission slip will be kept on file at the school.
Please note the following excerpts from our By-Laws:
Any parent who fails to work on their scheduled Parent of the Day shall be fined an amount equal to ½ month’s tuition. (Article II, Section 7)
Any member who fails to work on their scheduled monthly clean-up day shall be fined an amount equal to ½ month’s tuition. (Article II, Section 8)
Failure to attend a [parent] meeting or have an unexcused absence shall result in a $10.00 fine being assessed against the member by the Board of Directors. Any member who misses two meetings may have their child removed from the school and membership revoked at the discretion of the Board of Directors. (Article III, Section 1)
